Member of the month: Tim Chakarian
Spotlight date: June, 2021
Timothy Chakarian worked at the dealership as a master technician for 10 years, before he decided he could give the customers a more detailed, personalized experience than the dealer can. He hated seeing customers not being cared for properly by the dealership because the sales numbers didn’t work for the dealer. He felt if you take care of the customer and their vehicle, they will take care of you. So he opened up his shop with his wife, Johanna in 2009. Since 2009, his business has flourished and expanded and now he has 7 employees who work for him, helping him to fulfill his goal of taking the best care of his customers.
In 2012, Tim was invited to join the ASCCA local chapter, but he was always so busy he didn’t have the time to look into the association to see its benefits. Through the local chapter’s persistence, he finally did join, and he saw what a great association it was, and how the members looked out for each other and also helped to not just improve their own business, but also the automotive industry as a whole. Tim joined the ASCCA in 2014 and never looked back. He has since become a board member for his local chapter 5. He is the current Vice President, as well as the chapter representative, and the co-chairman for the chapter reps committee.
Tim has enjoyed joining the other ASCCA members at Team Weekend events, as well as at his local chapter meetings, and visiting other local chapter’s monthly meetings. He likes to meet the other members and to learn from the experience of men who have been in the industry for far longer than he has. His business has also enjoyed the many benefits from being a member of the ASCCA. These benefits include the vendors who work with our association, from discounts on services, to 30 minutes of free legal and coaching advice every month, to having many companies, like insurance and OSHA compliance companies, to be able to get advice from. Being a member of ASCCA has definitely been a great benefit to Tim and his business, and he looks forward to being a member for many years to come.
